On Saturday, December 15, 2012, Pastor Robert Furrow lost his beloved wife of 30 years to cancer.
Pastor Robert has the great responsibility of leading a large church, and his wife, Lisa, was his encourager.
Please take a moment every day, for the next year, to lift up Pastor Robert in your prayers. I pray that many will accept this commission.
Our God is with us in every moment. May we praise His name through all of them.
2 Samuel 22:29 For You are my lamp, O Lord; The Lord shall enlighten my darkness. Lord Jesus, I lift up Pastor Robert and his family to You. I ask You to enlighten their darkness with the light that is brighter than the sun, the light of Your presence. I ask this in Your name, Jesus, Amen
In this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while, if need be, you have been grieved by various trials, that the genuineness of your faith, being much more precious than gold that perishes, though it is tested by fire, may be found to praise, honor, and glory at the revelation of Jesus Christ, whom having not seen you love. Though now you do not see Him, yet believing, you rejoice with joy inexpressible and full of glory, receiving the end of your faith—the salvation of your souls.
I lift up Pastor Robert and his family to You. I pray You lead them through this time of trial and give them joy in their hearts through their faith in You.
Cast your burden on the Lord, And He shall sustain you; He shall never permit the righteous to be moved.
Dear Lord Jesus,
I lift up Pastor Robert to You, and pray that You sustain him as he casts his burden on You. I thank You, Lord, for Your promise to never permit the righteous to be moved. Please keep Pastor Robert strong in Your promises.
4 One thing I have desired of the Lord, That will I seek: That I may dwell in the house of the Lord All the days of my life, To behold the beauty of the Lord, And to inquire in His temple. 5 For in the time of trouble He shall hide me in His pavilion; In the secret place of His tabernacle He shall hide me; He shall set me high upon a rock.
I pray You keep Pastor Robert sheltered in Your house, the house of the Lord, all the days of his life. I pray that he and his family remain in the shadow of Your wings in their time of grieving. I pray You lift them high with Your love.
12 And we urge you, brethren, to recognize those who labor among you, and are over you in the Lord and admonish you,13 and to esteem them very highly in love for their work’s sake. Be at peace among yourselves.
I pray that You inspire the church to continue to esteem Pastor Robert very highly in love, and to surround him with the prayers of the saints.
5 Trust in the Lord with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding; 6 In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall directyour paths.
I pray You keep Pastor Robert secure in his trust in You. When we don't understand why, help us to remember that You understand why, and that You love us more than any human words are able to express. I pray for Robert to acknowledge You in all his ways, and for You, Lord, to direct his paths.
9 The Lord also will be a refuge for the oppressed, A refuge in times of trouble. 10 And those who know Your name will put their trust in You; For You, Lord, have not forsaken those who seek You.
I pray You continue to raise up Pastor Robert to share Your Word. I pray that You fill his heart with Your strength and peace. I pray You speak to the hearts of his children and comfort them. I lift up our church to You, Lord. I ask You to bring us through this time of grieving. We know Your name; Robert knows Your name; and You will never forsake us.
Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; For You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me.
I lift up Pastor Robert to You. I ask You to continue to guide him and comfort him, while he walks through the valley of the shadow of death. Thank You, Lord, for being with Robert and leading him towards Your light, away from death's shadow, one step at a time.
22 Through the Lord’s mercies we are not consumed, Because His compassions fail not. 23 They are new every morning; Great is Your faithfulness. 24 “The Lord is my portion,” says my soul, “Therefore I hope in Him!”
I pray You rain down Your mercies and compassion upon Pastor Robert and his family. Help Pastor Robert to always find his hope in You.
Behold, I am with you and will keep you wherever you go, and will bring you back to this land; for I will not leave you until I have done what I have spoken to you.”
I lift up Pastor Robert to You. I ask You to bless him and make his transition back to the pulpit a good one. Please heal his heart through Your love and the love of the body of Christ in the church. Instill in him a renewed fire to preach Your Word. Let him feel Your presence by his side.
