On Saturday, December 15, 2012, Pastor Robert Furrow lost his beloved wife of 30 years to cancer.
Pastor Robert has the great responsibility of leading a large church, and his wife, Lisa, was his encourager.
Please take a moment every day, for the next year, to lift up Pastor Robert in your prayers. I pray that many will accept this commission.
Our God is with us in every moment. May we praise His name through all of them.
Rejoice with those who rejoice, and weep with those who weep. -Romans 12:15 Lord Jesus, Please show Pastor Robert that he is not alone. As he has gone through his time of grief, the church has mourned alongside him. As he weeps, so do the children of God. I ask this in Your name, Jesus, Amen
To everything there is a season, A time for every purpose under heaven: A time to be born, And a time to die; A time to plant, And a time to pluck what is planted; 3 A time to kill, And a time to heal; A time to break down, And a time to build up; 4 A time to weep, And a time to laugh; A time to mourn, And a time to dance; Lord Jesus, Please help Pastor Robert through this season of his life. Bring him through the winter of his grief, and out to the spring of new promises in You. I ask this in Your name, Jesus, Amen
Lord Jesus, Please give Pastor Robert hope. As he meditates in his heart and calls out to You, please answer him. Your answers are the only ones that really matter. I ask this in Your name, Jesus, Amen
The heart of the wise is in the house of mourning, But the heart of fools is in the house of mirth.
Lord Jesus, You are faithful. You hold Pastor Robert's life, all our lives, in Your hands. Be by Pastor Robert's side as he spends his days in the house of mourning. Be by his side as he walks along the unexpected path You have led him to. I ask this in Your name, Jesus, Amen
Death of a believer looks very different to You than it does to us. We are grieving, while You witness a rejoicing in Heaven that we can only imagine.
Thank you, Lord, that Lisa will never suffer again. Thank you that she is enjoying the rewards of her labors, but there is still suffering on this side of Heaven.
I lift up Pastor Robert to You, and ask You to give him peace in his spirit. Help him to wait for the day when he will be with Lisa again; when he will be with You. And Lord, give us all the strength to lay down everything and everyone in our lives to You.
Blessed is the man who fears the Lord, Who delights greatly in His commandments.
-Psalm 112:1 Lord Jesus, I lift up Pastor Robert, and all those who follow You faithfully in the middle of their heartbreak. Please shower them with Your blessings and mercy. I pray their rewards will be great. I ask this in Your name, Jesus, Amen
And He is before all things, and in Him all things consist.
- Colossians 1:17
I pray that Pastor Robert, and all of us, keep You first in our lives. I pray that through our relationship with You, we have a love that is sustained through everything that happens in our lives. I ask this in Your name, Jesus, Amen
For by You I can run against a troop; By my God I can leap over a wall. -2 Samuel 22:30 Lord Jesus, Please fill Pastor Robert, his children, and the family of believers at Calvary Tucson, with the knowledge that You are able to empower Your people to overcome anything. I ask this in Your name, Jesus, Amen
You are my help and my deliverer; Do not delay, O my God. -Psalm 40:17b Lord Jesus, I pray You meet Pastor Robert where he is. Please do not delay Your help. Deliver his heart. Let him hold fast to You. I ask this in Your name, Jesus, Amen
